Things to Do: September

September signals the end of summer and the beginning of the school year. Despite school starting up, Toronto continues to host a variety of fun and free events. Here are a few events to check out this September:

  • Canadian International Air Show– Sept. 2-4
    • Every year during the Labour Day long weekend, the Canadian International Air Show flies through Toronto.
    • Stop by to check out one of the largest air shows in North America!
  • Toronto Fashion Week– Sept 5-7
    • This festival celebrates Toronto’s arts, culture, and fashion scene.
    • It takes place just a short walk from campus in Yorkville village.
  • Toronto International Film Festival- Sept. 7-17
    • This annual film festival is one of the largest in the world.
    • Stop by to see some celebs and catch the newest flicks.
    • The festival’s annual street festival that lines King Street West with free food, concerts, and contests.
  • Kensington Jazz Festival– Sept. 15-17
    • A celebration of live jazz music with many free and some paid performances.
  • Toronto Ukrainian Festival– Sept. 15-17
    • A celebration of Ukrainian culture.
    • So, so much food!
  • Queen West Art Crawl– Sept. 23-24
    • Check out the outdoor arts exhibition in Trinity Bellwoods Park.
    • Also be sure to check out the kid’s zone, performance zone, and the many food vendors!
  • Word on the Street Festival– Sept. 24
    • Toronto’s book and magazine festival
  • Nuit Blanche– Sept. 30- Oct 1
    • Toronto’s sunrise to sunset arts festival.
    • Walk the streets of Toronto at night and see the city transformed into a museum.
    • Tons of art installations to look at and plenty of performances on the street.
